Schneider is the 23rd president of Norwich University and one of the longest-seated college presidents in the country. Dr. Schneider is a 1968 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.\u00a0He was commissioned as an ensign in the Coast Guard and served eight years of active duty, including a tour of Vietnam.\u00a0Dr. Schneider retired from the Coast Guard Reserve as a Rear Admiral.<\/p>\n<p>In July 1992, Dr. Schneider became president of Norwich University, the oldest private military college in the U.S.\u00a0Since then, he has championed Norwich\u2019s charge to distinguish the University in the marketplace of higher education institutions by educating and preparing students to be global leaders in the private sector, government and the military.<\/p>\n<p><a class=\"video vidn\" href=\"\/\/vimeo.com\/206271889?autoplay=1\">Watch<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Richard W.
